Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome is when the is a pressure on the median nerve within the carpal
tunnel (a narrow passageway ). The median nerve controls the movement and sensation of
the first 3 fingers and thumb. Carpal tunnel symptoms can include tingling and numbness
of the affected fingers and loss of strength and grip. Carpal tunnel syndrome commonly
affect pregnant women, or those who jobs involve operating vibrating machinery.
Osteopathy can help with carpal tunnel syndrome using a variety of techniques to reduce
the pressure on the nerve in the carpal tunnel.Â
Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)
RSI a term used to describe pain felt in muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves caused by
overuse and repetitive movements causing pain, tenderness and stiffness in the affected
area.

Quervain’s Tenosynovitis
Quervain’s tenosynovitis is a condition causing swelling of the tendon and sheaths around
the thumb and wrist. The increase in swelling can place pressure on surrounding nerves.
The condition commonly affects people whos hobbies or job requires repetitive hand or
wrist motions, alternatively if you are pregnant or suffer with arthritis.

soft tissue release to shockwave therapy , dependant on what your Osteopath feels is
appropriate for you, and offer advice on how to on movements to avoid in the short term
